History of the Shop
The Bowling Store Pro Shop was opened in 2000 as Harbor Lights Pro Shop in Menominee, MI. The owner, Tony Strublic, opened the shop with the knowledge that a full service pro shop was needed in the area. Offering a full line of bowling equipment, Tony gained the trust of his customers to create repeat business through professional and knowledgeable service.
Graduating from Vincennes (Indiana) University with a degree in Bowling Center Management and Pro Shop, Tony moved to the area from his native town of Wautoma and began work at a local bowling center. Opening the pro shop was a great thrill for Strublic who had always wanted to get into the pro shop business.
A year later, Strublic added the Mark IV Mill Drill from Innovative Bowling Products to provide the most accuarte drilling equipment in the Tri-CIty area. It was a much needed improvement for the shop in that the drill was, and still is, state-of-the-art for drilling holes in any bowling ball.
In the summer of 2005, Tony moved the pro shop out of the original bowling center and moved in with Shooby's Trophies of Marinette. Strublic also gained the partnership of Tom Lund, owner of Center Bowl in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. Following one more final move to the current location, 1329 Main Street, The Bowling Store has firmly fixed itself as one of the premier bowling pro shops in not only the Tri-City area, but around Northeast Wisconsin.
